We welcome all the tech enthusiasts, aspiring future engineers, and scientists as well as Oil & Gas employees to register for the KOC Oil & Gas Techathon 2019.
The event will start in the late afternoon of November 14th and end with an Awards Ceremony on November 16th.
Together we will address challenges faced by our Oil & Gas industry.
The event is open to all Oil & Gas employees and university students.
KOC Oil & Gas Techathon 2019 is a three-day technology marathon, where engineers, developers, designers and technologists come together to address challenges faced by the oil & gas sector.
Throughout the KOC Oil & Gas Techathon competition, various participants from Kuwait's Oil & Gas sector (including K-companies) and university students will form different teams and attempt to solve specific challenges by developing innovative solutions.
This year's challenges cover the areas of health and safety, drilling, well surveillance and gas operations in Kuwait.
We aspire to promote innovation in the Oil & Gas Sector in Kuwait. Let’s embrace new ideas, methods and approaches when tackling challenges in our sector!
Our main objective is to provide an opportunity for university students in Kuwait to experience the full cycle of solving key challenges in our Operations.
Using your imagination, the latest technology, and the experience of our Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), you will be able to:
On top of that, each participant will have a unique opportunity to be mentored by leaders of both the industry and academia to further enhance their individual skills.
We also hope that that KOC Oil & Gas Techathon 2019 will create opportunities for future international project collaborations, creation of start-ups and new areas of multi-disciplinary academic research.
KOC Oil & Gas Techathon 2019 is a country-wide event that resulted from the tremendous joint efforts put in by KOC’s IT Services Team (Corporate Information Technology Group) and KOC’s Public Relations Group, who have teamed up with the Center for Research in Informatics, Sciences, and Engineering (RISE) at American University of Kuwait (AUK) — the Academic Partner.
